Penobscot Bay Media LLC (PenBay Media), a service-disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB), headquartered in Union Hall, Virginia, won a task order under their GSA VETS 2 prime contract to provide web support services to the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES) at the National Science Foundation (NSF), located in Alexandria, VA. The task order is valued at approximately $10M. Under this task order award, which is for a 24-month base period and two 12-month option periods, PenBay Media will provide web programming and design services to maintain, modify, and enhance the existing NCSES web presence. The NCSES publishes approximately 50 publications and online products per year and maintains a website with online resources and database systems. The website contains data and information in a variety of formats, including data tables, data tools, and applications for online data interaction. All the NCSES’s reports are released in electronic format. The NCSES posts its reports on NSF’s centrally administered web servers (https://www.nsf.gov/statistics/ and https://ncses.nsf.gov/). Support for this work is critical for the NCSES to meet its mandate. The NCSES has shifted to automation for electronic publishing with its custom-built Content Management System (CMS), which has been developed by PenBay Media under a previously awarded delivery order utilizing their GSA IT Schedule 70 contract. Robert Santmyer, PenBay Media’s President & CEO, said, “We are extremely pleased the National Science Foundation has chosen PenBay Media to continue to provide the NCSES with web support services. We take great pride in the high quality of service we provide to our Government clients, and this award demonstrates recognition for our dedication to excellence.”
